Salutations, fellow Helldivers — Patch 01.400.002 is now live, and I wanted to share a breakdown along with some thoughts. If you’ve been getting weird crashes or audio bugs lately, this one’s for you. Feel free to chime in if you found more after the update.




📜 What’s Fixed / Changed​


Here’s what’s been addressed in the patch:


  • Crash fixes:
    • On cave maps, when the host migrates under certain conditions.
    • Crashing when the oil rig gets destroyed while the shuttle is en route.
    • Crashes occur at startup and when joining someone using bombardment strategies.
  • Audio bugs:
    • Devastator projectile audio bug fixed.
    • The issue with primary weapon audio occasionally going missing has been addressed.
    • Cave audio levels rebalanced to be less jarring / better mix.
  • Gameplay tweaks:
    • The Dragonroach can now be damaged with fire or gas.
    • Rupture Warriors now track moving clients more accurately — aiming to even out the difference in attack difficulty between client and host.



⚠️ Known Issues​


There are still some things the devs haven’t fixed yet, or new issues are cropping up:


  • Some terrain clipping bugs: extraction shuttles/beacons clipping into terrain, making it hard or impossible to extract.
  • Weapon sounds/effects are missing in specific scenarios.
  • Weapon scopes sometimes show incorrect FOV.
  • UI/display issues: things like capes being blank grey in Armory, customisation stats (sway/reload etc.) not showing correctly.



💬 My Thoughts / What I Noticed​


  • Stability-wise, this was much needed — the cave host migration crash was super frustrating, especially in the “Into the Unjust” missions, where caves are everywhere.
  • The cave audio rebalance helps a lot. Before the update, I often couldn’t even hear enemies moving in caves because the ambient sound drowned everything out.
  • Giving more ways to damage Dragonroach (fire or gas) is cool — adds more tactical variety.
  • The FOV & UI bugs still bug me, though; getting a blank grey cape or broken customisation feels cheap when you’ve invested time in that gear.



🔮 What I’d Like to See Next​


  • Fixing the clipping/extraction bugs is a priority for me. There were times when a mission objective fell behind terrain, or the extraction zone just didn’t spawn cleanly, which can kill the run.
  • There's more consistency in stratagem behavior underground (especially in caves), but some calls don’t seem to register, or the effect is weird.
  • Perhaps more visual clarity in audio cues — enemies should be more audible underground now, but sometimes it’s still hard to distinguish what’s ambient vs threat.
