Planet Hellmire

Welcome to the brand-new Helldivers Forum Community!

Super Earth High Command orders you to enlist in Helldivers Forum today and serve with honor! We demand active Helldivers — not idle numbers. Failure to enlist and participate is treacherous behavior, especially if summoned by operative n7 after a mission. Come on you apes! You wanna live forever?

There are 55 sectors with a total of 261 planets.
Hellmire, known as "The Searing Fen," is a toxic swamp-world of acid bogs and blistering storms where Helldivers fight to choke off Automaton advances.

Hellmire — The Searing Fen — a toxic swamp where Helldivers battle relentless Automatons.

Scorching temperatures, high winds, and low precipitation cause a near-constant cycle of fires to sweep this planet, punctuated by short bursts of lush rebirth between infernos.

Overview

Hellmire is a fetid, swamp-choked planet infamous for its lethal mix of acidic marshes, superheated storms, and ceaseless Automaton patrols. It sits deep in the Mirin Sector's contested zone and serves as both a natural defensive barrier and a brutal proving ground for Helldivers.

Planetary Features

Hellmire's surface is a labyrinth of mudflats, sinking bogs, and sulfur pits that can swallow armored walkers whole. Frequent chemical mists corrode equipment and obscure sightlines. Sudden electrical storms lash the sky, overloading shields and frying careless squads. Navigation is treacherous; progress depends on drones, flares, and careful pathfinding.

Strategic Importance

Holding Hellmire cuts Automaton access to key jump lanes leading toward Super Earth's central supply corridors. Its quagmire terrain slows any mechanized advance, making it ideal for delaying actions and attrition campaigns.

History & Lore

The Fen's First Fall

During the early Automaton pushes, Hellmire's natural defenses proved to be double-edged. SEAF strongpoints bogged down and were isolated, with entire battalions lost when storms grounded evac craft. The nickname "The Searing Fen" spread as a warning and a badge of survival.

Liberation Swarms

Years later, Helldivers returned in force, adapting with hover deployment craft, acid-hardened armor, and layered artillery strikes. The liberation of Hellmire became a textbook operation in asymmetric terrain warfare.

Notable Battles

  • Boglight Stand: Divers held the only stable plateau long enough for Super Destroyer support to arrive, saving the Hydra flank.
  • Stormbreaker Offensive: Coordinated rail strikes and shock troops cleared Automaton nests in record time.

Combat Notes

  • Acid resistance is key: Equip hardened boots and resistant armor mods.
  • Storm timing: Use weather breaks for major pushes; extraction must be fast before lightning returns.
  • Ambush heaven: Visibility is poor — deploy turrets and mines liberally.

Legacy

Hellmire remains a byword for hellish endurance and cunning adaptation. Those who survive its swamps return tempered and ready for any front.
